Benwerrin House

Carss Park, NSW

Services: Landscape Concept Design

Size: 586m²

Stage Completed: Concept + DA

Year of Design: 2018

The Benweein House sits on a steep contour with a 7 meter difference of level between the top area and the building. Given such a spectacular location, the challenge was to create a landscape that truly connected with building and that integrated well with the topography of the site.

The proposed decking is situated on different levels of the land according to the contour lines in a way to take in the vantage points to create more flexible activity space. Buildings position create in – between outdoor areas and gardens to enjoy which would otherwise be difficult to experience on a land of such a steep pitch. The buildings appear to be a part of the land by blurring the boundaries between terrain and landscape.
